Who we serve

Support for families who need someone in their corner

SafeNest works with mothers, infants, and families across Edmonton who are navigating some of life's most challenging moments. We show up — without judgment, without conditions — and walk alongside you.

We meet you where you are

Our program is designed for families who are often underserved by traditional support systems. Whether you're a young mother finding your footing, a family working toward reunification, or a parent facing housing instability and limited support — SafeNest is built for you.

01

Young mothers and new parents

Becoming a parent is overwhelming under any circumstances. For young mothers — especially those without a strong support network — the early weeks and months can feel isolating and uncertain. SafeNest provides steady, non-judgmental guidance that helps young parents build confidence, develop safe routines, and feel supported in their role.

  • In-home parenting coaching and skill-building
  • Infant care guidance and feeding support
  • Routine development and daily structure
  • Connection to community programs and resources
  • Consistent, reliable presence through the early months
02

Families involved with Child & Family Services

Navigating the child welfare system is stressful and complex. SafeNest works closely with CSD caseworkers to provide structured, documented support that demonstrates family progress and helps families move forward with their case plans. Our clear, objective documentation supports reunification goals and gives families a credible voice in the process.

  • Professionally supervised family visits
  • Clear, objective written documentation for case plans
  • Collaboration with CSD caseworkers
  • Support for reunification and case-plan goals
  • System navigation and advocacy
03

Families experiencing housing instability

When stable housing is uncertain, everything else becomes harder. SafeNest meets families wherever they are living — in homes, shelters, transitional housing, or community spaces — and provides the kind of consistent, grounded support that helps families stabilize, build routines, and reduce crisis incidents regardless of their housing situation.

  • Mobile service delivery — we come to you
  • Support in homes, shelters, and transitional housing
  • Crisis de-escalation and stabilization
  • Home environment safety guidance
  • Referrals to housing and community resources
04

Mothers experiencing trauma

Many of the families we serve carry the weight of past trauma — and we understand that behaviour is communication. SafeNest workers are trained in trauma-informed practice, which means every interaction is guided by safety, trust, and compassion. We don't judge. We listen, we show up, and we help families move forward at their own pace.

  • Trauma-informed, non-judgmental support
  • Harm-reduction approach — progress over perfection
  • Consistent, reliable presence that builds trust
  • Strengths-based coaching that honours resilience
  • Referrals to mental health and trauma supports
05

Families with limited support networks

Not every family has grandparents, friends, or community nearby. For families who are parenting without a safety net, SafeNest fills that gap — providing the steady, caring presence of a knowledgeable support worker who shows up consistently, follows through on commitments, and helps families build the connections they need to thrive.

  • Consistent home visiting and relationship-based support
  • Connection to community programs and peer networks
  • Transportation to appointments and services
  • Practical guidance and hands-on skill-building
  • Advocacy and accompaniment to appointments
